Meet the Executive Team of Dermody Properties
John Atwell - Chief Operating Officer
John Atwell joined Dermody Properties in November, 2007 as the Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for the DP’s day-to-day leasing, marketing and development activities across the country.
With and extensive professional career in commercial real estate, Atwell most recently served as Director of Development of the Western Region for First Industrial Realty-Trust, a national provider of industrial real estate. There, he was responsible for overseeing development and construction projects for the company and its corporate partners from Denver west. Prior to that his many leadership roles included Senior Vice President and Development Manager for Trammell Crow Company in Irvine, CA, where he was responsible for industrial real estate projects throughout southern and northern California, Vice President of Robert Pattillo Properties and Chief Financial Officer at Weeks Corporation, where he helped to take the company public in 1997.
Atwell earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and his MBA from the University of North Carolina. He is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), CoreNet Global and the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.
