The Dermody Properties Foundation was founded in 1988, funded by the profits generated by the hard work and dedication of all the employees at Dermody Properties/DP Partners. With a focus on the arts, education, and the family, as well as a special emphasis on children and the elderly, our employee-managed Foundation has benefited thousands of families through hundreds of non-profit organizations and causes.
On average, the Dermody Properties Foundation donates more than $100,000 per year to a variety of non-profits in the communities in which we do business. We are pleased to have awarded grants and scholarships to organizations such as: Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Northern Nevada Food Bank, The Rescue Mission, Committee to Aid Abused Women, Hub City Senior Center, Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, Nevada Opera Foundation, Georgia Southern University (scholarships), YWCA, and Better Boys Foundation. We are especially proud to have sponsored two Habitat for Humanity houses, with both funds and volunteer labor.

At Dermody Properties we believe it is our responsibility to share our success with the communities in which we do business. The Capstone gift began in 2007 as a way to say “thank you” to a community that helps our business thrive. Each year during the Thanksgiving season, Dermody Properties makes a substantial donation to one or more nonprofit organizations to help them continue their good works throughout the holiday season.
Our first capstone gift was dedicated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to help them open their new facility – a 60,000 square foot distribution center that allowed them to begin distributing 6 million pounds of food per year. In 2011, Capstone Gifts were awarded to the Nevada Wolverine's Basketball Program (managed by The Children's Cabinet), the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The $25,000 donation enabled the Food Bank to purchase protein-rich food for over 14,600 families in northern Nevada. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund will use their gift to encourage continued education by awarding four-year scholarships to the children of U.S. military personnel who are killed or permanently disabled. The Capstone Award will assist the Nevada Wolverines Basketball program in its mission to help children by enabling the development of social, athletic, and academic skills. Dermody Properties continues to support and give back to our communities through initiatives like the Capstone Award.

The gift went towards the purchase of high protein food, including the eggs and yogurt seen above,
