Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Award

At Dermody Properties we believe it is our responsibility to share our success with the communities in which we do business. The Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Award began in 2007 as a way to say “thank you” to a community that helps our business thrive. Each year during the Thanksgiving season, Dermody Properties makes a substantial donation to one or more nonprofit organizations to help them continue their good works throughout the holiday season.

Michael Dermody speaks to a class at Libby Booth Elementary School in Reno, Nev. about the importance of food banks in communities.

Our first capstone gift was dedicated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN) to help them open their new facility – a 60,000 square foot distribution center that allowed them to begin distributing 6 million pounds of food per year. In 2015, Dermody Properties provided $50,000 to food banks across the country. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN) received $25,000 to assist with its School Pantry program. Dermody Properties also presented Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Awards of $5,000 to food banks in Chicago, Ill.; Louisville, Ky.; Seattle, Wash. and southern New Jersey. Food banks in Carlisle, Penn. and Nazareth, Penn. also received Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Awards of $2,500. You can learn more about the 2015 Thanksgiving Capstone Award here. Dermody Properties continues to support and give back to our communities through initiatives like the Thanksgiving Capstone Award.
