Urban Outfitters celebrated the grand opening of its Western United States Internet Fulfillment Center on September 6, 2012. The build-to-suit facility is located on 38.34 acres of development-ready land in Dermody Properties' LogistiCenterSM at Silver Lake. Dermody Properties developed the 462,720 square foot facility, which is USGBC LEED Silver Certified. The URBN Phase 1 building has more than 450,000 square feet of warehouse space, over 10,000 square feet of office space, a sophisticated automated material handling system and a 24/7/365 data center. United Construction, a longtime partner of Dermody Properties, designed and constructed the facility. A future Phase 2 expansion can increase the fulfillment center to 895,360 square feet.
LEED Silver Certification brings significant tax benefits to Urban Outfitters, whose investment in northern Nevada is estimated to generate more than $3 million in local taxes, 31 percent of which will benefit the Washoe County School District. The Dermody Properties team worked closely with Urban Outfitters, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to create economic benefits for all involved parties.
